West Bengal is the easternmost state of India. The capital of this state is Kolkata. Kolkata was formerly known as Calcutta. West Bengal has preserved its historical and cultural heritage since ancient times. Many historical events have taken place in this state. In the year 1757, the battle of Plassey took place in this state. During the British rule, Kolkata was the capital of the British monarchy. West Bengal is home to the Nobel Prize-winning poet Rabindranath Tagore. West Bengal is a very important state in terms of tourism.

Darjeeling: Darjeeling is the coldest place in West Bengal. This place is 2134 meters above sea level. This place is blessed with the beauty of the peaks of Kanchanganga in the Himalayas. Ghum is located at Darjeeling, the highest railway station in India. Tiger Hills, Sandafku, Mirik are the best points of Himalayan view. There is a grand memorial of Deshbandhu Chitteranjandas.

Chittaranjan: Largest industrial area in the country. There is a railway engine factory here.
Gangasagar: A sacred pilgrimage site for Hindus. Hindu devotees are of the opinion that Kashi Rameshwar Barabar Gangasagar is a bar. Sacred place in the triangular region of the river Ganga. The river Ganga originates in the Himalayas and flows into the Bay of Bengal. Makar Sankratis is a big pilgrimage here. Kalimpong: Kalimpong is the coldest place in West Bengal. Large quantities of fruits are grown here. The place is famous for its spices and textiles. Here you can see Buddhist monasteries.
Bethuyadhari: Bethuyadhari is a wildlife sanctuary. It is located in the town of Bethuadhari in the Nadia district of West Bengal. Its area is very large. There are attractions for tourists.
Kamarpukur: The place where Swakami Ramakrishna Paramahansa was not born is in Hooghly district of West Bengal. Swami Ramakrishna Paramahansa's Rakkrishnar Math is here.
Jayaramwati: Jayaramwati is the birthplace of Srishardadevi. This place is in Bankura district.

Kendrabilvash: Birthplace of Jaydev, the author who composed a Krishni poetic Geet Govind in Sanskrit.
Digha: The only sea resort in the state of West Bengal. The view of sunrise and sunset from here is breathtaking. Enjoy the ocean with a shallow beach.
Durgapur: Durgapar is known as a beautiful city in West Bengal. There are also big businesses here. It is known as the home of steel industry in the state as well as in the country. Special for tourism. The city center here is known as the Heart of Durgapur. Kumaramangalam Park is popular here.
Karsiang: A hill station in Darjeeling district. Most of the orchards are here. Leading place in the field of education. Buddhist monastery.
Tarkeshwar: There is an attractive and holy Shiva temple called Baba Taraknath. Special for Shiva devotees.
Behrampur: Handicrafts are famous here.
Medinipur: W. in West Bengal. Medinipur is one of these cities. It is an industrial and educational center.
Sunderbans: Renowned as a sanctuary in West Bengal. A very large wetland sanctuary in the triangular region of the river Ganga. Famous for tigers. A large number of mangrove trees are found here. Royal Bengal is a protected sanctuary for tigers. There is a huge crowd of tourists to see the Sunderbans National Park.
